Lubawa S.A. started cooperation with the Ukrainian Ukroboronprom company

On 19 December in Kiev, the Polish company entered into an agreement on strategic cooperation with the Ukrainian state arms company named Ukroboronprom. The main aim of the cooperation is to introduce products offered by Lubawa S.A. to the Ukrainian market, based on long-term government contracts.

Ukroboronprom brings together more than 130 state-owned enterprises which are responsible for all key military supplies in Ukraine, made by the company by means of both own production and import. Cooperation with Lubawa S.A. is to make it possible to introduce to Ukraine the military equipment manufactured with the use of components and technologies provided by the Polish partner, while for Lubawa S.A. itself it is to allow further increases in sales for the Ukrainian clients. Due to the fact that the parties expressed their wish to mutually use owned distribution channels, the established cooperation will not be limited only to the Ukrainian market.

I consider Ukraine one of strategic directions of international expansion of Lubawa S.A. In 2014, we made a range of supplies to the Ukrainian clients (Border Guard, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of National Defence), and the supplied products included accommodation facilities, bullet-proof vests and helmets. Our products met with high appreciation on the side of the clients. Moreover, the products bear certificates of conformity with applicable standards which are in force in the country of our eastern neighbour, commented Marcin Kubica, Lubawa S.A. CEO.

By signing the cooperation agreement, the parties agreed on a precise plan of action whose implementation starts from January 2015. First, the presentation of the Lubawa S.A. equipment will take place at the seat of Ukroboronprom and military training grounds in Ukraine. Equipment which meets with the greatest interest on the side of the Ukrainian party will be presented, including logistics equipment, multi-spectral camouflage systems and soldier's personal protection systems. Based on the demonstrations, the volume of the said products will be determined, which will then translate into the purchase budget. Establishment of a joint venture company will be a final step, following the steps described above. The company will take up production of individual products in Ukraine on the basis of components and technologies provided by Lubawa S.A.

We are proud that it is Lubawa that has become a strategic partner of Ukraine and Ukroboronprom. We hope that our cooperation will contribute to greater stability in Ukraine, improvement of security in the region, as well as to the compliance of equipment of the Ukrainian army with the NATO standards due to the supplies of equipment that meets these quality criteria, adds Marcin Kubica.
